Re-elect Dr. Carrie Olson for Denver School Board

As a DPS teacher for more than three decades, a parent of a K-12 DPS graduate, and now president of the DPS Board, I know that the most important factor in successful outcomes for our students is what happens in the classroom.

I’m incredibly proud of my work over the last four years which includes raising teacher pay, increasing true community engagement, improving our curriculum to be more inclusive, providing strong leadership during a pandemic, and hiring a new superintendent with the skills, lived experiences, and knowledge to lead us into a bright future.

I’m running for re-election because a teacher’s work never truly ends. Teachers know there is no such thing as ‘former students’ and ensuring equitable outcomes, building lifelong learners, and giving every child the opportunity to succeed is a process that does not end when the bell rings. Just like my students that have become my friends as they enter adulthood, our work on the board does not end when we achieve our goals - we set new ones!

We have a lot of work to do in the next four years and as Board President I’ll make sure that our Board continues to lead with teacher values, every child gets what they need to thrive, and that we never lose sight of what is most important: our students.
